Walsall for All – ‘Active Living, Healthy Eating’

In September 2019, Manor Farm Community Association and Nash Dom CIC organised a Community Sports Festival in Walsall, West Midlands on the theme of ‘Active Living, Healthy Eating’. Funded by a Walsall for All’s Innovation Grant, the event aimed to improve the sports activities on offer in the area and to unite people without prejudice and discrimination.

The festival brought 15 local organisations and services together to provide activities and information. This included Walsall Football Club, Active Gymnastics, 1-2-1 Fitness, roller skating, Heartcare, MIND, One Walsall, West Midlands Fire Service and Talking Therapies. Nash Dom CIC provided free cultural food, giving people the opportunity to try something new. Fundraising also took place, with money raised going back into the community.

The Festival Football Tournament brought together participants from a wide array of backgrounds, including those of Czech, Pakistani, British, Syrian, Roma, Indian, Nigerian, Polish, Maldivian, and North African descent.
